Class of 2026 Representative on the Clarkson Honors Steering Board

2022 - Present

Elected to represent the Clarkson Honors Program Class of 2026 on the Honors Steering Board.  In this position he will be the liaison between the administration of the Honors Program and his class.  He will help to plan team building events and community service activities as well as voicing the concerns of the Honors Class of 2026.

Representative of Seneca County on the New York State Governor's Youth Advisory Council

2021-Present

Joseph was appointed by the state to be the representative for Seneca County on the New York State Governor's Youth Advisory Council.  His goal when joining the council was to expand youth voice within his small rural county.  Currently, he is working with 7 representatives from the surrounding counties to draft solutions on the topics "Covid-19 Pandemic - What worked? What didn't?" and "Creating Positive Interactions between Youth and Law Enforcement."  Over the past few months Joseph has been researching solutions and had presentations from local law enforcement in order to fully understand all aspects of his topics.  Currently, he is working on drafting his proposal with the 7 representatives that make up his region to present to the state-wide council in November.

United Way of Tompkins County Youth and Philanthropy Member

2021-2022

Although Joseph is not a Tompkins County resident, he was warmly welcomed into the Youth and Philanthropy program by the United Way of Tompkins County. In this program, Joseph and several peers from around Tompkins County diligently reviewed grant applications and collaborated to allocate the $25,000 in funds wisely. It proved to be a challenging task due to the overwhelming need and numerous grant applicants, yet they successfully determined which community organizations would benefit the most from the funds. 

South Seneca Student Government President

2021-2022

At the end of his Junior year of high school, Joseph saw a need for new leadership in student government.  In the first two months after his successful election campaign he helped to plan and organize the homecoming spirit week, pep rally, parade, dance, and ceremonies at the varsity football game.  Later in his senior year he and the rest of the student government team organized fundraisers and planned an after-prom event that included numerous attractions and many door prizes for the student body to enjoy.

South Seneca National Honor Society President

2021-2022

Joseph's peers elected him as President during his Senior year of high school. In this role, he organized a blood donation drive for staff and students, along with a fundraising car wash, and planned events to show appreciation for the school staff during staff appreciation week.

Junior Assistant Scoutmaster

2021 - 2022

After Joseph came of age to become a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster he decided not run for reelection for the Senior Patrol Leader Position.  Junior Assistant Scoutmaster is reserved for the most mature and senior scout in the troop.  This position is appointed by the scoutmaster.

South Seneca National Honor Society Vice-President

2020-2021

Joseph was elected to be the Vice-President during his Junior year of high school.  During his tenure as Vice-President he helped to organize numerous activities, such as, a virtual game night, and staff appreciation week activities.

Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 78

2017 - 2021  

Senior Patrol leader is the highest youth elected position in scouting.  The Senior Patrol Leader is responsible for planning, running the meetings, and overseeing the patrols.
